The Power of Questioning

The Power of Questioning

In this vast and complex world we live in, curiosity is the beacon that guides us towards a profound understanding of our surroundings. Our questions, those small punctuation marks of our minds, have the power to bring light into the fog of the unknown. They open doors to new horizons, encouraging us to explore, discover, and evolve. The question is the ancestor of the answer and the tool through which we obtain knowledge.

The Power of Questioning

Curiosity is an inner force that cannot be ignored. It is a flame burning deep within my soul, yearning to be nourished with answers. My questions are like seeds, planted in the fertile soil of the mind, in the hope that they will grow and transform into blooming trees of wisdom. They are the expression of my desire to know more, to delve into the heart of mystery, to uncover the truth that lies beyond appearances.

However, the power of questioning lies not only in the search for answers but also in the process of seeking itself. A well-formulated question opens doors and unlimited possibilities. It leads us on unexplored paths and challenges us to look beyond what is obvious. The question sets in motion the wheel of thought and encourages us to find creative and innovative solutions to our problems. It is an instrument of liberation, helping us surpass the boundaries of our limited thinking and explore unknown territories.

The Power of Questioning

Yet, sometimes, the received answers can be disappointing. There are moments when our questions may be met with vagueness, ambiguity, or even silence. These moments of disappointment can be challenging to accept. However, it is important to understand that the process of seeking answers is more important than the answer itself. Each question teaches us something about ourselves and the world we live in.

Disappointment can be an opportunity to reassess our questions and adjust their direction. It can help us understand that sometimes answers are not always clear, and the journey to truth can be arduous. Faced with disappointment, we are invited to question whether we have formulated the right question, whether we have approached the issue from all possible angles, and whether we have been open enough to accept answers that do not align with our expectations.

Curiosity and disappointment are two sides of the same process of seeking understanding. They complement each other, and the interaction between them helps us evolve and grow. Each question is a step forward on the path to knowledge, and each answer – whether satisfying or disappointing – offers us a new perspective on the world and ourselves.

Ultimately, the power of questioning lies in its ability to challenge, inspire, and transform us. Our questions define our journey and lead us to our inner truth. They remind us that we are in a continuous search, and the answers we find are never the end of our journey but the beginning of a new chapter in our understanding.

Therefore, I will continue to ask questions, to explore, and to learn from the answers I receive. My curiosity will always be a beacon lighting my path, and disappointment will always be a friend encouraging me to seek further. Through the power of questioning and the effects of received answers, I will continue to evolve and discover new horizons in my knowledge of the world and myself.

Shape Project – beyond the boundaries

White Shadow

I like to create things, to start new art projects as it is the Shape Project – beyond the boundaries. I like this very much and it does not matter the form, the value or the meaning. It does not matter if these things are considered art or simple objects. To create, for me it is as if I have an superpower with which I can stop the time. Then everything is possible, the rules disappear and so do the limits and the impossible can be transposed into my creation.

How the Shape Project started

Abstract art isn’t easy, but it’s so beautiful !

It was so easy to start this project with Trisha. The hard part came later ?. Yeah, i said easy because Trisha and I are two artists who are exploring and experimenting a lot on the abstract side. I will tell you more about Trisha in the lines below. Till then, let me introduce you inside our Shape Project .

The idea: „let’s draw two shapes and exchange them between us, then create something based on the received drawing, the shape.” I drew a completely random, meaningless shape, a little complicated to integrate into Trisha’s painting style. And she drew a balloon, just as complicated to integrate into my style, with straight lines. She knew how to

As I said, it was simple at first. But later I felt out of my comfort zone. When I realized it was more complicated than I thought, I was determined to do something special. To keep the balloon shape, even to go to a 3D structure and at the same time keep my abstract style, with straight line.

After killing half of the neurons, I set to work, „I knew what I had to do.” ? .

• Wooden panel
• Wooden perches
• Special glue
• Gesso
• Acrylic paint
• START!

Grinding wooden sticks and my fingers too ? . The artist’s sacrifice for the love of art.

White Shadow Shape Project beyond the boundaries

One day, when we talk about the project, Trisha told me that it would be interesting to count the number of pieces of wood I use. Because I liked the idea and I considered i can do more than that, I decided to measure each piece of wood. ? I stopped this activity after it reached 154 pieces, with a total length of 1886 cm. ?

In the end I think I used about 200 pieces of wood, with a total length of about 2000 cm

Studying angles. Pythagoras must be very jealous.

How the Shape Project – beyond the boundaries goes in time?

The creation process took several months. It was a slow process. I can’t explain if it was long because I liked working on this project and I didn’t want to finish it too quickly or because I had some doubts about what the final shape will be. I changed my mind so many times. But, challenging my creative part was that thing that brings me happiness and much more desire to explore the universe of art and explore my imagination.

Meanwhile I decided to call it „White Shadow„. I think this name fully reflects what I wanted to achieve from some pieces of wood and white acrylic paint on a wooden board of 60 x 80 cm.

Great experience, wonderful collaboration (thanks Trisha). A process full of emotions, exceeded limits, a deep dialogue with my imagination. The rest is a story that I leave you to discover in the pictures below:

About my collaborator, one of the most talented artists I’ve ever met:

Trisha Dullu – the artist of endless journey

Trisha is a self-taught visual artist, carving her niche tirelessly through the years with arduous experiments, enriching experiences, in-depth research and most importantly failures. This journey has also included self-study along with studying the works of her favorite artists. While this journey has been a very fulfilling and satisfying one so far, yet the unquenching thirst to learn and create more, has been her constant guiding light. She genuinely feels like a constant work-in-progress.She has thoroughly loved and enjoyed every step of her journey so far and is eagerly looking forward to many more years of expressing herself through her Art.

“Experimentation has been the doorway to my success.”

Trisha’s forte is impressionist acrylic art focusing mainly on abstracts and land/seascapes paintings. She also loves to dabble in mixed media art techniques to bring about a variety in her work and seek out newer techniques and mediums. But, let me share with you few of her absolutely stunning artworks:

Once Upon A Time – mixed media abstract – part of Shape Project – beyond the boundaries

[…]My painting tells a story of a time as it was. The time that stands still now narrating a beautiful story of yesteryears through an object which could have been someone’s most prized possession but now forgotten in this dilapidated room.

There are so many things I feel inspired by and want to capture in the folds of my canvas. This painting has many such elements like texture walls, distressed vintage furniture, monochrome setup and dragonfly. I decided to use a lot of structure paste to create different textures in different section of my work. I have used acrylic paints, ink (my new love), charcoal and mixed media. […] Read more

„Hypothetical Freedom”: An Abstract Painting on Wood, Unleashing the Spirit of Liberation

„Hypothetical Freedom”: An Abstract Painting on Wood

Welcome to my blog, where we embark on a journey through the captivating world of abstract art. In this article, we delve into the enigmatic abstract painting on wood titled „Hypothetical Freedom”. Inspired by the poignant story of a magnificent bear confined to a small cage at a zoo, this artwork captures the essence of longing for liberation. Join me as we unravel the symbolism behind this thought-provoking piece and explore the depths of its narrative.

The Story of Captivity:

"Hypothetical Freedom": An Abstract Painting on Wood

In the heart of this abstract painting lies the story of a bear confined within the suffocating boundaries of a cramped cage. Imagine the sorrowful sight of this majestic creature, unable to fully express its strength and vitality. Day after day, the bear would repetitively spin in a circle, its movements constrained by the limited space. This tale of captivity evokes a sense of empathy, inviting us to reflect on the essence of freedom and the yearning for a life unrestrained.

„Hypothetical Freedom”: An Abstract Painting on Wood. The Power of Imaginary Spaces:

"Hypothetical Freedom": An Abstract Painting on Wood

Within the artwork „Hypothetical Freedom,” the bear’s lingering attachment to its limited surroundings becomes apparent. Even after being released into the vast wilderness, the bear continues to spin in the same circular pattern, perpetuating its imaginary space. This notion serves as a powerful metaphor for the psychological boundaries we impose upon ourselves, despite physical liberation. It prompts us to question our own self-imposed limitations and explore the depths of our own imaginary spaces.

Symbolism of the Bear:

"Hypothetical Freedom": An Abstract Painting on Wood

The bear symbolizes strength, resilience, and primal instincts. In „Hypothetical Freedom,” the bear’s presence serves as a reminder of the untamed spirit that resides within each of us. It represents the desire to break free from societal constraints and rediscover our innate sense of self. The bear’s repetitive motion within the painting echoes the struggle to overcome deeply ingrained patterns and habits that hinder personal growth.

Abstract Expression:

The abstract nature of this painting allows for diverse interpretations. The artist skillfully uses bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors to convey emotions and ideas beyond the confines of realism. The dynamic line of the circle capture the essence of the bear’s perpetual motion, while also inviting viewers to explore their own interpretations. Each stroke on the canvas serves as a visual representation of the complexities and nuances of the human condition.

Reflecting on Personal Freedom:

„Hypothetical Freedom” prompts us to reflect on our own lives and the barriers we construct, often unconsciously, that prevent us from embracing true liberation. It encourages us to question the patterns we find ourselves trapped in and challenges us to break free from self-imposed limitations. By contemplating the bear’s journey from physical confinement to the perpetuation of its imaginary space, we are compelled to examine our own journeys towards personal freedom.

„Hypothetical Freedom”: An Abstract Painting on Wood

„Hypothetical Freedom” is a captivating abstract painting that captures the emotional and psychological struggle for liberation. Inspired by the story of a bear confined to a small cage, this artwork provokes deep introspection and reflection. As we gaze upon the swirling strokes and vibrant colors, we are reminded of the strength within us to overcome self-imposed limitations and embrace true freedom. Let this painting serve as a catalyst for personal growth and inspire you to explore the boundaries of your own hypothetical freedom.

The Line: A Journey of Abstract Minimalism on Wood

Tablou abstract " the Line "

Abstract minimalism on wood

In a world saturated with noise, chaos, and constant stimulation, the simplicity and elegance of abstract minimalism offer a much-needed respite for the weary soul. Inspired by the whispers of silence and the beauty of simplicity, I embarked on a creative journey to give life to „The Line,” an abstract minimalist painting on wood. With nothing more than wooden sticks and a palette of gray, beige, and black, I set out to capture the essence of tranquility and create a narrative of stillness within the realm of art.

Inception

„The Line” began its existence as a mere idea, a flicker of inspiration that sparked my imagination. Seeking a medium that could embody the raw simplicity I envisioned, I found myself drawn to the natural beauty of wood. Its warmth and organic texture provided the perfect canvas for my artistic exploration.

Materials and Tools

Embracing the minimalistic ethos, I carefully selected wooden sticks of varying length, appreciating the inherent imperfections that each one possessed. These humble materials would become the building blocks of my creation. With a palette of gray, beige, and black, complemented by subtle touches of other colors, I aimed to create a harmonious balance that resonated with the depths of my soul.

With the tools in hand and the vision alive within me, I began the meticulous process of bringing „The Line” to life. Each stroke and placement of the wooden sticks was an intentional act, an exploration of the interplay between space and form. As I delicately arrang toed the sticks in a relief design, a captivating rhythm emerged—a dance of lines that flowed seamlessly, revealing a unique narrative of simplicity and serenity.

The Breath of Stillness

In the subtle tonal variations of gray, beige, and black, I discovered the essence of stillness. The soft touch of additional colors, like gentle whispers, provided a fleeting glimpse into a world beyond our grasp. It was as if the painting exhaled tranquility, inviting the viewer to take a moment, to breathe deeply, and to embrace the beauty of simplicity in their own lives.

A Universe Within

„The Line” is more than a mere painting on wood; it is a portal to introspection and self-discovery. Each viewer is invited to step into this abstract universe and embark on their own personal journey. As the eye wanders along the intricate paths of the relief design, the mind finds solace, and the heart discovers a renewed sense of calm.

Abstract minimalism on wood

„The Line” stands as a testament to the power of minimalism, reminding us of the beauty that lies within simplicity. Through the careful arrangement of wooden sticks and the subtle interplay of colors, it invites us to pause, reflect, and find moments of stillness amidst the noise of everyday life. May this painting serve as a gentle reminder that in the quiet spaces we create, we can discover our own inner masterpiece—a masterpiece that echoes the timeless beauty of „The Line.”

Exploring Abstract Minimalism: „Choice X” and „Choice Y”

As an artist, I constantly find myself drawn to the world of abstract minimalism. The simplicity and raw emotion it evokes have always fascinated me. Recently, I embarked on a journey to create a series of two paintings on wood, named „Choice X” and „Choice Y”. These pieces represent for me a harmonious balance between form and texture, where I could experimented with modeling paste to create reliefs. Let me take you on a visual journey through these thought-provoking artworks.

„Choice X”

Exploring Abstract Minimalism: "Choice X"
Choice X

The first painting, „Choice X,” captivates with its understated elegance. A monochromatic palette of gray, beige, white, and black dominates the composition, drawing the viewer into a world of serene contemplation. The textured relief, created with modeling paste, adds depth and dimension to the artwork. However, it is the little red rectangle that steals the show, subtly disrupting the grayscale harmony. It symbolizes the power of choice and the impact it can have on our lives. Through this small but striking element, „Choice X” invites viewers to reflect upon their own decisions and their consequences.

„Choice Y”

Exploring Abstract Minimalism: "Choice Y"
Choice Y

As does „Choice X”, „Choice Y” embraces a warm and inviting ambiance. The color palette remains soft and muted, predominantly consisting of gray, beige, white, and black. A delightful surprise awaits the observer in the form of a little yellow rectangle nestled within the composition. This vibrant burst of color injects a sense of vitality into the artwork, suggesting the potential for new beginnings and embracing different paths. „Choice Y” encourages viewers to step out of their comfort zones, take risks, and embrace the beauty of uncharted territories.

Abstract minimalism on wood

Both paintings measure 40×40 cm and 2 centimeters thickness . This deliberate choice emphasizes the physical presence of the artworks, allowing them to effortlessly command attention within any space. The use of wood as the canvas further adds to the organic and earthy nature of the pieces, reinforcing the connection between art and the natural world.

I believe that „Choice X” and „Choice Y” represent a harmonious blend of abstract minimalism and tactile relief artistry. Through the application of modeling paste, I was able to create textures that invite viewers to explore the artworks with their sense of touch as well as sight. The little red rectangle in „Choice X” and the little yellow rectangle in „Choice Y” act as subtle yet powerful visual cues, guiding the viewer to contemplate the importance of choices and embracing new possibilities. These paintings, with their tranquil palettes and meticulous compositions, serve as a reminder to embrace simplicity, introspection, and the beauty of the abstract.

In a world often overwhelmed by complexity, these paintings on wood provide a moment of respite, a visual oasis where we can reflect, make peace with our decisions, and embrace the path that lies ahead.
